ICHESS is building a multidisciplinary team for a health security capacity assessment in the Republic of the Congo.

• Location: Brazzaville, with travel to targeted health facilities across the country
• Duration: up to 3 months
• Contract type: consultancy
• Deadline: Sunday 28 September 2026

Main responsibilities

• Assess the availability and functional status of biomedical equipment in targeted health facilities (laboratories, disease surveillance, emergency management, biosafety and biosecurity)
• Document gaps in equipment, maintenance and technical staff qualifications
• Analyse the organisation of maintenance against integrated biomedical maintenance standards (EASI framework or equivalent national standards)
• Contribute to the mapping of material resources and the assessment of climate risks to health infrastructure
• Formulate costed recommendations to close the gaps identified
• Take part in report writing and the presentation of results

Profile

• Engineering degree (Master’s level minimum) in biomedical engineering, electromechanics or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in biomedical engineering or the management or maintenance of medical equipment
• Proven experience in inventorying, assessing or auditing technical facilities in health institutions
• Good knowledge of biomedical asset management tools and standards
• Experience on projects funded by international technical and financial partners is an asset
• Experience in Central Africa, particularly in the Republic of the Congo, is highly desirable
• Fluency in written and spoken French
• Immediate availability
